Why Eating Healthy Matters?
The mission of Our Family Kitchen is to improve health outcomes through health education and increasing access to healthy meals. We recognize that about 3 out of 4 adults are overweight and improving your nutrition is the most important aspect of managing that. We know that being overweight contributes to type 2 diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and cancer.
Our Family Kitchen wants to be a part of reversing that trend and are here to make eating healthy easy and fun for you and your family. We have customized all our recipes, selecting lower fat proteins, increasing and adding more vegetables and lowering sodium, while not compromising on taste. We have searched for meals across the globe to bring you exciting flavor profiles turning your evening meal into a new adventure. We also make it fun by hosting meal prep classes where you can meet new people as we support you in preparing your own healthy meals.
Our Family Kitchen is a 501(c)(3) and all funds raised through classes and membership enable us to increase access to healthy meal solutions to improve health outcomes.
What We Provide
Increased Health Awareness
With our healthy meals, we wish to help you and your loved ones prevent the onset of diseases and/or help manage the symptoms and progression of poor health. But we also wish to provide you with the tools on how to live a healthier lifestyle, such as how to read a nutrition label, appropriate portion sizes, and how to make well-rounded meals.
Private Classes
In our private meal prep classes, we will help you prepare 10 – 20 easy, quick, and nutritious freezer meals. These can be cooked in a slow cooker, in one pan on the stove or oven. The meals will be low in unhealthy fats, sodium, and sugar. But packed with protein, vegetables, and other nutrient-dense ingredients. But we won’t skip on flavor as we will make all of our spice blends in-house, and plan to provide you and your family with tasty variety.
Access to Healthy Freezer Meal Recipes
All of our recipes are less than 500 calories and 500 mg of sodium per serving, helping you stay on track to meet your health goals. All of our meals can be frozen for up to 3 months and cooked in one dish (crockpot, instant pot, sheet pan, skillet or grill). All of our recipes can be customized to the number of servings you desire and you can also create a shopping list to take to the store.
